Family Art Contest

The kids voted to have a "Family Art Contest" one night. The only rule was you had to really put some thought and effort into it. There was also a pretty loose time limit, which started as an hour but ended up being 2. So everyone let their imaginations run wild and then presented their creation to the family.

Ollie took the award for most intricate detail for drawing a million tiny axolotls. He also drew Kenton and I as two giant axolotls smooching in front of a giant bowl of ramen. The heart is our favorite colors (mine is green and Kenton's is brown) and our favorite foods (ramen & eggs for me, pasta & schnizel for Kenton)

Eevee took the award for unique style fusion. She paper cut her favorite animals, put them in her favorite T-Swift Eras tour outfits, and gave them her favorite drink (taro boba tea) while having them sing songs about their endangered status.

Maria took the award for most emotionally touching. She painted the ocean full of family inside jokes and wrote a beautiful poem about her piece.
OAKFLAME was the name we came up with to put on our family crest (currently in the works): Ollie Amanda Kenton Fran Lucy Aurelia Maria Eevee

Francis took the award for most unexpected and creative. He gave us all a laugh by drawing his favorite football players riding their team mascots.

Lucy took the award for color explosion with her drawing of her friend surrounded by swirls.

Kenton and I were the judges but we did some drawing too. Kenton made a folded pastel sunset that opened up to a much bigger drawing. And I just sketched all the things happening in front of me while holding Aurelia.
