Water Cycle & Terrariums
During 1st grade homeschooling, Ollie learned how the water cycle works by doing a series of experiments with Kenton to see it in action.
Then he sketched out what he'd learned and we turned it into a poster:
Next he experimented with using and layering different materials to figure out how to filter water.
Then we used all his new knowledge (and some pickle jars, charcoal, stones, soil, moss and succulents) to make terrariums (two open and two closed).
The girls let everyone use the sticker machine to make name labels for their plants:
**Update** As of June 2024, 3 out of 4 of these guys are still thriving (RIP rain plant - he's been replaced twice). Also, we had to open up Eevee's Bobby Jr. because he got pretty funky after a year.
