2025 Travel Adventures Advent Calendar
This year I really wanted to come up with a new tradition for our 6 kids to replace advent calendars. I wanted them to enjoy counting down to the holidays... but also not accumulate 24 junky knick knacks (x6)/eat candy every day.
So I spent all my free time in November making 33 retro postcards full of inside jokes of us at all the places we went that year. I made each postcard using a combination of traditional drawing, digital drawing, Photoshop, and AI. Then I combined all the postcards in PS, adding a few coins and souvenirs the kids would recognize, and had it printed onto a 20x30" 1000 piece puzzle.
Next Kenton and I secretly assembled the puzzle and then broke it apart in 40-50 piece chunks.Every day the kids would assemble one of the chunks together (~1-2 postcards), and on Christmas Eve they had one big illustrated poster puzzle recapping all our wild 2025 adventures.
Cheers to 2026.
